Robert Lovi

Robert Lovi (also known as Rob Lovi) is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under 7th degree Red-Black ("Coral Belt") Belt, Professor Pedro Sauer.
Rob trained in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for more than a decade. He was awarded all of his belts, from White through Black from Pedro Sauer at his main academy. In February 2007, Rob was awarded his Black Belt.
Rob was an assistant instructor at Pedro Sauer's main academy, and traveled to Brazil on multiple occasions, where he trained with Team Brasa, and other schools including TT (Telles-Terere).
Over the years, Rob Lovi has trained with leading Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors including Felipe Costa, Leo "Leozinho" Veiera, Ricardo "Ricardinho" Veiera, Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros, Octavio "Ratinho" Couto, Andre Galvao, Eduardo "Telles" Moreira, Fernando Terere, Mario Reis, Fabricio Werdum, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, Rodrigo Medeiros, and the Carlson Gracie Team.
Rob competed at the following tournaments: Gracie IGJJF, US Nationals, San Diego Open, and Utah Submission Tournament. He is sponsored by Pitchfork Hardware, Guard Ya Grills, and Padilla & Son's Kimonos.
Rob took private lessons in Tactical Arrest and Control from Pedro Sauer, and now teaches this special curricula.
Rob moved to San Diego in 2005 and has taught for Knock Out Fitness Club, American Boxing, The Boxing Club, Alliance MMA, Chula Vista Police Dept and the US Marshals. Rob is a regular visiting instructor for Gracie Iceland, and has also instructed the Iceland Police.
Rob now specializes in private lessons in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and emphasizes the importance of crisp technique over strength.
