Robert Lamb was an inmate at the Billerica, Massachusetts House of Corrections who plead guilty in connection with a plot to kill his wife and a Medford, Massachusetts police officer. [edit] Criminal history

In 2003, Robert Lamb was already under correctional custody for a domestic assault and battery charge. Mr. Lamb was married to a Russian mail-order bride and assaulted her during the marriage. He has continually maintained his innocence in regards to the domestic abuse case and has claimed that he was framed.

According to authorities, beginning in March 2003, Lamb conspired with Barry Joyce, age 47, previously of Boston, to kill Lamb’s wife and a Medford Police officer. The police officer had been an investigator on the spousal battery case that Lamb was serving prison for. Law enforcement officials became aware of the situation in December 2003 as a result of a tip from within the House of Correction.

State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, along with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Department and the Medford Police, conducted an extensive criminal investigation, which included the execution of search warrants and an undercover operation. As a result of this investigation, authorities confirmed that Lamb had in fact made arrangements to pay Joyce a sum of money to kill his wife and the Medford officer.

In addition, in the course of the investigation, Lamb allegedly attempted to hire an undercover State Police Trooper assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to commit the murders, believing the trooper to be a hit man.

Robert Lamb plead guilty to the charges in January 2006 and will be released in the summer of 2007.

Check the record again no convictions of murder plot

Joyce convinced Lamb that the Medford Officer was having an affair with his wife in order to scam more money from him. Joyce then colloceted the money and fled with no intent of following through on the murder plot. Lamb, realizing that he had been scammed, looked through the prison system for another "hit man". Law enforcment uncovered the plot and an undercover Offcier was sent into the prison. Lamb then solicited the undercover Officer to commit the murders. He was arrested, charged and convicted. He pled out to a lesser charge and was released in 2007.
