Robert L. Flood

Robert L. Flood (born 1955), British organizational scientist, and Professor of Management Sciences at the University of Hull, UK. Hie is a recognized authority on applied systemic thinking in the areas of strategic management, organizational behavior and organizational improvement.[1]

Robert Flood was born in 1955. He received a B.A. in Systems and Management in 1983 at the City University and a PhD in Philosophy in Systems Science at the City University in 1985. He worked for 8 years in the film business, the health service, and an opinion poll agency, in the management of Paramount Pictures, National Opinion Polls and the Berkshire Area Health Authority.

He started working at the City University, and was appointed to a full professorship at the 1989 at the Hull University. He further works as Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Maastricht School of Management. He is founding and current editor of the international journal Systemic Practice and Action Research. He is also associate editor of the Systems Research and Behavioral Science.

In 1997 Flood was awarded of Doctor of Science from the Hull University for a sustained and authoritative contribution to the field of management. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control

Flood worked is in the fields of applied systemic thinking, strategic management, organizational behavior and organizational improvement. He actively pursues his management interests through consultancy, mainly in commercial organisations.

His applied systemic thinking is evidenced in a consultancy and training portfolio that includes organizations in Australia, the Arabian Gulf, South East Asia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. He has lectured by invitation in over 20 countries worldwide including Japan and the United States of America, and has featured on his travels in a number of radio and television programs.[2]
