Robert Kearney born 26 March 1986 in Louth, Ireland is a rugby union player for Leinster in the Magners League.

He is also contracted to University College Dublin RFC who play in AIB League Division 1.

Robert Kearney's position of choice is as a Full-back and he can also operate at Wing. He was called up to the Ireland squad for the 2008 Six Nations Championship and had scored 2 tries. One against Scotland and one against England.[1] [2]

He was first called into the Irish training squad for 2005's autumn internationals and toured with Ireland A in the summer taking part in the Churchill cup. His current club is University College Dublin, with whom he won the U-20's McCorry Cup in 2005, beating Trinity College in the final.

He scored a hat-trick of tries on his debut for Leinster in the pre-season friendly win over Parma and since then has taken the Celtic League and Heineken Cup by storm. His scintillating form earned him successive call-ups for Ireland's extended November and 6 Nations squads. In April 2007, he was named in the Irish squad to tour Argentina in the summer.

Robert was educated at Clongowes Wood College in Co. Kildare.
