Robert Kaye Greville

Robert Kaye Greville (born December 13, 1794 in Bishop Auckland, Durham; died June 4, 1866 in Murrayfield) was a Scottish mycologist, bryologist, and botanist. He had an interest in these subjects since youth, but originally studied medicine. In 1823 he began the publishing of the journal Scottish cryptogamic flora and also contributed articles in the field. In addition to science he was interested in political causes like abolitionism and the temperance movement. In 1856 he was elected MP for Edinburgh.[1]
