Robert Fred Ellsworth

Robert Fred Ellsworth (born June 11, 1926) was a U.S. diplomat. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to NATO between 1969 and 1971. He has served three terms as a Republican Member of Congress from Kansas, Deputy Secretary of Defense, and Assistant to the President during the Nixon administration. He graduated from the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Alpha Nu chapter of Beta Theta Pi, in 1946.
