Robert Eng

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert Eng is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. In the Canadian election of 2004, he was a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Winnipeg Centre.

Before running for public office himself, Eng worked for the Manitoba government (presumably during the administration of Gary Filmon), and was involved in several political campaigns. He has participated in community activities via the United Way, Toastmasters International, and the Heart Foundation. During the 2004 election, Eng was pursuing a degree in business administration with a major in marketing, and was working for the Liquor Control Commission.

Winnipeg Centre is a riding that has traditionally supported the New Democratic Party, with the Liberal Party as its primary opposition. The Conservative Party did not target Winnipeg Centre as a winnable seat, and Eng ran an extremely low-profile campaign. He received only 3631 votes, or about 13.5% of the total cast.
