Robert Earl (singer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert Earl (born Monty Leigh in 1926) was a singer of traditional pop music in the United Kingdom in the 1950s and 1960s, whose style was operatic, like fellow crooners David Whitfield, David Hughes, Lee Lawrence and Edmund Hockridge.
He enjoyed three chart hits during this period, while signed to Philips Records: "I May Never Pass This Way Again" (#14) and "More Than Ever (Come Prima)" (#26) in 1958 and "The Wonderful Secret of Love" (#17) in 1959. He had a 15 year recording career from 1953 to 1967 always with Philips. In that time he made 28 singles in a total of 60 published songs. His agent was Michael Sullivan, who also represented Shirley Bassey.
There is currently one CD of his recordings available, The Magic of Robert Earl (Spectrum).
