Robert Barnes (footballer)

Robert 'Bobbie' Barnes was an Australian rules footballer who played for West Adelaide in the SAFL.

Barnes played his early football in Broken Hill and was a Kenwrick Medal winner while at West Broken Hill Club. A rover, he was recruited by West Adelaide of the 1921 season and was represented the South Australian interstate team that year for the first of eight times. In 1922 he won the Magarey Medal and topped West Adelaide's goalkicking in 1924. He finished with 59 games and 67 goals for West Adelaide.
