Robe de style

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robe de style is a type of women's dress popular in the 20s. Lanvin was a noted designer of robes de style. The style was characterized by a dropped waistline and a full skirt. It often consisted of leopard and cheetah prints. These looks became popular during the Roaring Twenties because they suggested a life of leisure. It appeared that the wearer was well-to-do and could afford to hunt leopards and cheetahs and then wear their skins.
