Robert Merrill (born June 13, 1963) is a founding member of and bass guitarist for the heavy metal band Godsmack. Along with vocalist Sully Erna, he is one of only two founding members still with the band. He is also a founding member of the band Another Animal.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Merrill started to play guitar at age ten growing up in Norwood but later switched to bass. He has played in a country, blues, reggae, prog, and '50's/'60's cover band. Before joining Godsmack, Merrill was a self-employed carpenter (a trade he shared with Godsmack lead guitarist Tony Rombola). Merrill is married and has one child. He currently lives in Auburn, New Hampshire. Although he is a left-handed musician, Merrill actually writes right-handed.
