Robbie Clarke (born 16 September 1984) is an Irish football defender, who currently plays for Waterford United in the Eircom League of Ireland, who he joined from Shamrock Rovers at the end of the 2007 FAI Eircom League season.

[edit] Biography

Robbie joined Shamrock Rovers from Kildare County at the beginning of the 2006 season. He was among five players who made the switch from Kildare to the South Dublin club at that time - Ger O’Brien, himself, Ray Kenny, Gareth Cooney and Robbie Shiels.

In his first season with Shamrock Rovers he formed part of an impressive back four who gave away just thirteen goals during the league campaign, a club record. He missed just one game throughout the season – away to Dundalk – the crucial goal he scored in the FAI Cup quarter final away to Athlone Town proved that his talents are not just confined to defence.

In his two seasons at Rovers Robbie made a total of 69 appearances scoring the aforementioned goal.
