Rob "Robert" Malone is the bass player for English musician David Gray. Malone hails from Donaghmede, Dublin, Ireland, and previously played bass for Hothouse Flowers, Hinterland, and Dave Herbert of Les Enfants to name but a few.
However, he is probably best known for his exciting bass playing for Dublin prog rockers Lir who were touted as the next big thing in Ireland in the early 90s.
Before embarking on a career with Lir, Malone played acoustic guitar for the church youth choir in Donaghmede.
Malone has co-written a number of songs on recent David Gray albums.
