Rob Davison (b. May 1, 1980 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a defenceman for the New York Islanders. Davison was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft (4th Round, 98th overall) but did not ice for the NHL outfit until the 2002–03 season.

Following the trading of Bryan Marchment, the San Jose Sharks recalled defenceman Davison from their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Barons. At the time Davison had four points and 82 penalty minutes in 42 games with Cleveland.

During the 2004–05 NHL lockout, Davison played in the UK's professional ice hockey league, the EIHL, with the Cardiff Devils.

On March 18, 2008 vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs as a member of the New York Islanders Davison scored one of the longest goals in NHL history[citation needed] when a shorthanded clearing attempt from around his own goalline sailed all the way down the ice and took several bounces before skipping over the glove of goalie and former teammate from the Sharks, Vesa Toskala and into the net for the Islanders' lone tally in a 3–1 loss. The shot was logged by the NHL as having travelled 174 feet.[1]

Davison is being paid US$525,000 this year. His contract ends in June 2008.
