Description

Roberto Maestas, founder of El Centro de la Raza, Seattle, Washington, attending the keynote panel of 2008 Pop Conference, Experience Music Project, Seattle, Washington. Panel was called "Ritmo and Blues: Hidden Histories Shaking Up 'American' Pop", and focused on the contributions of people of Latin American origin or ancestry to popular music in the United States. Maestas was making a comment/question from the floor. Standing behind (but not a very good image of her) him is Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times (for whom there is a much better image at Image:Ann Powers 01A.jpg).
