[edit] Pictures from Mexico CIty
Hi there, I just saw you uploaded a pic of a "micro" from Mexico City. Since I don't know any wikipedians who are in the city who also have a digital camera, I was wondering if you could take pictures of El Ángel whenever you had the chance. It would be appreciated. Thanks! -- Rune Welsh ταλκ 20:40, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks for repyling. It would be real nice if you could take pictures of the eternal flame and the lion led by the child. Maybe some of the other sculptures too, but I don't think those would be really necessary. I'm looking forward to your other pictures of the city too. -- Rune Welsh ταλκ 21:33, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Jerónimo Arango
Hallo! I saw your article on Jerónimo Arango, as I try to complete a list of the richest Latin-Americans in the German Wikipedia. You stated he was born in 1927, but via google I found other sources (of no higher standard) giving 1926 as his year of birth. Could you help me with this? Thanks, 128.176.83.43 07:00, 6 June 2006 (UTC) (chigliak on de Talk)
[edit] Thank you for your kind words
Hi there, I seem to be back on Wikipedia. Thanks for leaving those encouraging words on my talk page. I do have to ask you, how did you find me? I don't remember that we've ever "talked" before. Anyway, thanks again! --Kyoko 13:17, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again (again!) for your kindness, and for being willing to be a "countervoice" to discouraging words, as you put it so well! --Kyoko 14:09, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for the very encouraging statements you put on my talk page. I feel so much better now, and I am actually having the best time of my life!!!--Edtalk c E 02:38, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RfA thanks
Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 66/11/5. I learned quite a bit during the process, and I expect to be learning a lot more in the days ahead. I appreciate the feedback I received from you and the other neutral votes, and I hope I can earn your trust. I will be taking things slowly (and doing a lot of re-reading), but please let me know if there is anything I can do to improve in my new capacity. -- Merope Talk 13:50, 6 October 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] My RfA
Thank you for the neutral vote. I respectfully disagree, however. I can handle stress fine. I just don't like butting heads with adversaries. Or rather, I enjoy it, but I tend to lose my cool and get rather rough. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 17:40, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it :) I just did my first semi-protect and am absurdly proud of it. Heh. Let me know if I can do anything admin-like for ya! riana_dzasta 15:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] culture question
Okay, I just read a GQ article about the Chelada (beer, ice, lime, salt) and the Michelada (the previous plus tabasco and worcestershire). Being from Mexico, could you possibly tell me which variety is more common, and thus perhaps which should actually have the article's title? From the perspective of the article, it seemed that the plain chelada was the progenitor and was in fact more common, while the michelada was secondary. Please excuse me if you have no clue what I'm talking about, as I may have fallen prey to the "you're Mexicano, so you must know about this" syndrome. VanTucky 22:56, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! It seems GQ may have just focused on the "chelada" bc that sounded more palatable to the gringos. VanTucky 00:29, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 2
Thank you for taking the time to participate at the discussion in my Request for Adminship. Unfortunately the nomination did not succeed, but please rest assured that I am still in full support of the Wikipedia project. I listened carefully to all concerns, and will do my best to incorporate all of the constructive advice that I received, into my future actions on Wikipedia. If you can think of any other ways that I can further improve, please let me know. Best wishes, Elonka 05:12, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, and yes, I'll definitely try again. :) And I apologize about the copy/paste... I did think about leaving a more personalized note on each person's talkpage, but considering my spotty internet access this week, it probably would have taken several days to get through them all! My offer is sincere though, in that if you do have anything in particular you'd like to bring up, please feel free to contact me directly. Best, --Elonka 17:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My RfA
Roadmr, I just wanted to say thank you for my successful RfA, which passed 89/2/5. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of support that I received and I am more than a little bit humbled at the kind words yourself and many others had to say about me. I wanted to personally say how much it is appreciated. Trusilver 02:25, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Torre Mayor and Alejandro Cruz Philion
Hi. Thanks for letting me know. I had to use Babel Fish, but enough of it was clear to get the gist. Thanks again. Cheers TigerShark 23:04, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3
Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. Thank you also for your question, which I answered with all sincerity. Please rest assured that if I do receive six good-faith requests to resign, from editors in good standing, I shall resign my admin access immediately. But I'm not worried, because I really don't anticipate any problems. :) For now, I'm taking things very slowly, partially because it's the holiday season and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions! I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a good New Year, --Elonka 20:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
