[edit] Lists or disambiguation pages?
This template states explicitly that the page on which it appears is a disambiguation page, but it also adds it to a list category. The titles of the pages, from what I can tell, begin with "List of...". Guidelines for disambiguation pages are very different from guidelines for lists, so it doesn't seem to make sense to try to make these pages both. Are these list articles that can have images and could concievably become featured lists, or are they disambiguation pages that cannot have images and will never become featured anything? - They're dab pages. Originally they were at simply "Route x", but someone moved them to "List of highways numbered x", possibly for clarification. Route x, State Route x, Highway x, etc all redirect to the List of highways numbered x article because non-roads editors can and do link just link to stuff like Highway 9 without realizing that there is a state highway 9 in just about every state and a U.S. route bearing that number too. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 05:15, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- In this case, I propose that the disambiguation pages be renamed "Route x", "Highway x", etc. and that the category Category:Lists of roads sharing the same title be renamed Category:Ambiguous road names. The images (namely the highway shields) should be removed from these pages as well. These changes will remove the confusion about whether these are lists or disambiguation pages, as well as conforming the pages to disambiguation page guidelines. Neelix (talk) 11:37, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
