Talk:Roadside memorial

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is the proliferation due to advice from attorneys of the bereaved to set up these shrines in order to influence juries for wrongful death suits that often result from such accidents?

I googled a bit for this, but couldn't find any source materials to suggest this. If you have seen any, please post them. TH 06:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Wow! That's amazingly cynical! anyhow -- yeah, cite your source.

[edit] Snappy remark

As a kid in the 50s I once pointed out a roadside memorial to my mother and asked her what it was. Without pausing for a moment she explained, "That's something hillbillies do, when one of 'em gets run over."
