Roadside America
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roadside America is an indoor miniature village and railway covering 8000 square feet, created by Laurence Gieringer in 1935. It was first displayed to the public in the Rainbow Fire Company's building, and a separate exhibit was opened in Carsonia Park in 1938. In 1941 both exhibits were brought together in their current location in Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, Exit 23 on Route 78.
It contains 400 miniature buildings and 4000 miniature people. Roadside America has remained unchanged since Gieringer died in 1963.
