[edit] Story

Three years have passed since Terry Bogard defeated Wolfgang Krauser and won the second King of Fighters tournament (Fatal Fury Special is a non-canon dream match game). Since that time, the Lone Wolf and his friends have spent most of their days practicing their moves and relaxing in their own leisure time, prepared to fight once more when given the chance to do so. One day while in Southtown, Terry and his younger brother, Andy Bogard began to hear rumors that their long-time enemy, Geese Howard is supposedly alive and that he's been searching for a pair of mysterious scrolls known only as "The Sacred Jin Scrolls". Not taking any chances, the two brothers decide to call upon fellow friends Joe Higashi and Mai Shiranui to give them a helping hand in the matter and upon further investigation, both Terry and Andy are shocked to learn that Geese is indeed alive and that he's been hiding in darkness since his alleged death in 1991. Unfortunantly for the quartet, Geese isn't the only threat to worry about, for a sadistic psychopath named Ryuji Yamazaki is also after the scrolls as well and that he's under orders from a pair of mysterious martial artists known only as the Jin twins (Jin Chonshu and Jin Chonrei). Fortunantly for Terry and his friends, they get some new allies in their adventure, which includes a beautiful blonde female agent named Blue Mary (who would go on to be Terry's love interest), a Hong Kong police detective named Hon Fu, a Capoeria fighter named Bob Wilson (who happens to be Richard Meyer's number one student), a famed kickboxer named Franco Bash, and a Japanese priest named Sokaku Mochizuki. Though the canon storyline of Fatal Fury 3 says that Geese was able to escape with both scrolls in the end, the story would still continue in Real Bout Fatal Fury, of which the final battle between Terry and Geese would commence, resulting in the Fatal Fury canonical death of Geese Howard (though he would still appear in the later installments of the Real Bout series).
