How do i get the Twinkle gadget

Twinkle is owned by AzaToth. Post on his page and ask him for it. If approved, just add this line to your monobook.js:

importScript('User:AzaToth/twinkle.js')

You then clear your cache, and viola. Note it only works with Firefox, and again, he first must approve you. Good luck.

[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Ro098

Ro098, I am sorry to inform you that I have closed your RfA as unlikely to reach consensus: there was an x:y ratio against the request at the time of processing. However, don't be downhearted by this: I can assure you that your contributions are both highly welcome and valued—many editors have failed their first request for adminship, only to sail through later and become well-respected administrators.

You may wish to review the Guide to RfA before submitting future nominations, as well as well as here and here, both of which list the more highly-supported RfAs. Additionally, admin coaching is a useful aid for editors interested in becoming an administrator. If I can assist you at all, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kindest regards, Anthøny 21:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Admin

Hi there. I didn't realize you applied for adminship. As I mentioned, it really too early in your Wikipedia career to make a run at it, but never fear, there's plenty of time. Xymmax (talk) 21:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Ack, and now I see you've nominated me! Thanks so much, but I'm going to decline. I may seek it one day, but for now I plan to take my own advice, and do lots of regular editor things. Again, thanks for the kind thoughts, and feel free to ask me if you have Wiki questions. Xymmax (talk) 21:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] General note on providing citations/references

When you provide a citation/reference, at least in the sense that you were trying in the Über article, you should provide something such as a newspaper, or possibly a video-game magazine in your case where the term was used as you mentioned it. You may want to see the wiktionary entry on uber-, where they talk about usage when describing other things and Wikipedia:Citing sources#When quoting someone on how to do this. -Optigan13 (talk) 01:45, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

You're on the right track, but not quite there, sorry if I wasn't clear in the last notice. The other issue with citations is that they need to be from reliable sources. If you'll notice on the wiktionary entry the references they are using are from newspapers. The references you posted are from message boards and personal blogs, which are generally not considered reliable. See if you can find something from actual gamespot writers, or another newspaper or magazine. The problem with sources such as message boards and personal blogs is there there is very little to separate them from in jokes between friends, or someone just making something up. -Optigan13 (talk) 09:22, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy Deletion Oops

Hello,

I recently created a page that went through speedy deletion (Mia CMS). Mostly my fault because I'm new to authoring on Wikipedia and generally did a horrible job. I shall try to create a better page that meets the guidelines. I'll do that first in a sandbox and then once all edits are done I'll post the final draft as a new page. If I have any problems I'll contact you again. Feel free to delete this section at you leisure. Thanks for understanding. -Al (Al.warren.miacms (talk) 13:31, 15 May 2008 (UTC))

[edit] Economy Candy

Hi there,

It seems you don't have an email configured with your account -- to set one up, just go Special:Preferences. Since the article was fairly small, I'll just post it here.

[edit] Epic

I see you re-linked Epic in Über. Epic is a disambiguation page. Not sure it helps someone looking at the page. If you think so, okay, but. . . (John User:Jwy talk) 00:40, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Carly Comando

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Carly Comando, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.last.fm/music/Carly+Comando. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:09, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Carly Comando

A tag has been placed on Carly Comando requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 16:09, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
