RMA Gold Airways Pty Ltd is a proposed Australian regular public transport airline to be based in Melbourne operating under the trading name of Gold Airways. It is planned that the airline will fly a modern fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft to Australian capital cities and popular regional centres and eventually, with larger aircraft, to international destinations. It has already advertised for many of its positions but as of 25 April 2008, has not commenced operations. Gold Airways has lodged a letter of intent with the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority, to operate domestically and has been granted access, subject to the Air Operator Certificate being issued and Aeronautical Services Agreements being finalised, to all its timetabled destinations. Gold Airways will allow prospective passengers to choose from a range of fare options including ultra-low fares. 35% of its capacity is allocable to this class, meaning that up to 2.1M seats could be offered annually. Unlike other Low Cost Carriers and Legacy Carriers, the Gold Airways model incorporates an adaptable cabin layout incorporating advanced seat design, a First Class cabin combined with a Gold Class Service.
The company is currently in negotiations with investors for a syndication solution.
The company has already indicated it will recognise the Australian Companion Card for disabled person related travel.
In an unusual step it has already developed a good corporate citizen profile on its website by providing links for greenhouse emission offsets with Greenfleet and supports the Arrive Alive road safety initiative.
