[edit] Colourblind accessibility
Avoid colour coded images and maps. Orange-yellow-green coded maps are especially common on Wikipedia, but are completely unusable by 5% of the visitors.
The best practice is to use pattern-coding instead. The existing images should be easy to convert.
[edit] Temporal accessibility of slideshows
Avoid fixed delay in slideshows. People might want to stop at a certain point to examine a slide in greater detail, for example. Currently fixed-delay animated GIF slideshows are very common on Wikipedia.
Create pausable slideshows instead. AJAX slideshows are one possibility using open standards. The existing animated GIFs should be easy to convert.
