[edit] License tagging for Image:Jorhat govt boys.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jorhat govt boys.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:06, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your edits in Assam
Hi Rajib, your inputs in Assam are appreciated. But since a separate article for the time line exists for Assam (Timeline of Assam History), the additions were removed. You may add additional information in that page. Also, if you are interested in Assam, you may register yourself at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Assam/Members.
Welcome to Wikipedia, as well as the WikiProject Assam.

[edit] Copyright problems
Hello. Concerning your contribution, Timeline of jorhat, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://upperassam.com/History.htm. As a copyright violation, Timeline of jorhat appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Timeline of jorhat has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
-
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Timeline of jorhat and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Timeline of jorhat with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Timeline of jorhat.
However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. WWGB 07:15, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CKB Commerce College
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of CKB Commerce College, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ckbcc.org. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 07:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of CKB Commerce College
A tag has been placed on CKB Commerce College requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Coren (talk) 00:25, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photographs
Since you are from Jorhat, could you take, or ask someone to take, photographs of some of the historical places and upload them on Wikipedia? Lachit Borphukan's Maidam comes to mind immediately. Thanks. Chaipau (talk) 23:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
