[edit] Welcome back

I haven't seen you around for a while! Ryan Postlethwaite 17:46, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Ryan - yeah, been on Wikibreak due to work issues, but have some free time today. Good to see you again! RJASE1 Talk 17:47, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
God damn real life! Well as you probably know, since you've been away, UAA has come into play instead AIV for usernames, so a lot more are decided their rather than being sent to RFCN by AIV - traffic to RFCN's gone right down in fact and it's so much simpler to issue a quick block then move on, without the need for days of discussion to come to the same conclusion. Just thought I'd fill you in - good to have you back (well at least for now!). Ryan Postlethwaite 17:53, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I noticed the Twinkle changes - seems like a big improvement! RJASE1 Talk 17:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion?

You requested speedy deletion of my user page: DPeterson/mylist...I use that page in my user space to keep track of notes to myself...Isn't that OK? DPetersontalk 23:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

The page wasn't in userspace, it was in mainspace - see WP:USER for help on putting it in userspace. RJASE1 Talk 23:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sound Professionals

Hello:

I am trying to comply with the guidelines on this site. Listed under "microphone manufacturers" are many companies that have listings. As an example, look at "Audio Technica"

I originall based on listing on several I say there.....we have company history, products lines, places, etc.....but was told this was not acceptable

So, I changed it to be very basic information, much like the Audio Technica page.

I don't understand how these other listings are acceptable, but ours is not.

Rather than threating us, I would appreciate it if you tell me what the problem is.

Chris Carfagno chriscarfagno@soundprofessionals.com

Chris, no threat intended, but you should not be writing about your own company per guidelines on conflict of interest and spam. However, the article has been repeatedly deleted because the company is apparently not notable enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia. Unless this changes, I don't see your article being included. The fact that other companies have articles is not relevant to this situation - it just means that either they have demonstrated notability or nobody has got around to deleting them yet. If you would like to advertise your company, I would suggest using your own website or purchasing some banner ads. RJASE1 Talk 18:07, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sound Professionals

Hello:

Thanks for the info. I am sure, looking at the other manufacturers listings, that they were indeed created by somone within each company.....that seems obvious to me.

I understand what you have said otherwise and will work toward getting it right. Thanks.

Chris

I'll take a look at that category and see it the spam can be cleaned up, thanks. RJASE1 Talk 18:29, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Perry Pirsch

The deleted text is now copied to your userspace at User:RJASE1/Perry Pirsch. NawlinWiki 19:52, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! RJASE1 Talk 19:53, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked

I'm sorry to have to tell you, that I've blocked your account indefinately due to abusive sockpuppetry that confirmed you created the account User:TortureIsBad to vandalise UAA, my userpage and H's userpage. The evidence for this is here. Ryan Postlethwaite 15:26, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Per AN/I, I have reduced your block down to 72 hours - please consider your actions again when you return, and please be aware, that many people will still want an explanation. Ryan Postlethwaite 15:44, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jim Kweskin

You deleted the article on Jim Kweskin I contributed. I don't know how to reinstate it, but I think it should definitely be reinstated. Kwesking was one of the seminal musicians of the Jug Band era, and has lauded in many different places. He and his band created quite a few very important record albums. Please re-read the article and reconsider the deletion.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdoniach (talkcontribs) 03:19, June 9, 2007 (UTC)

Actually, that article has been deleted twice by two different administrators, but not by RJASE1. See the log here. You may contact either of them, or make a request at Wikipedia:Deletion review. -- Satori Son 15:44, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Link from Dummy head recording

Hello:

Sorry to beat a dead horse...I didn't get an answer to my last post, so when you have a moment.....

Also, there is a reference to The Sound Professionals on this page (which I did not create):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dummy_head_recording

that makes reference to our company and a specific product related to this article. I added a link to our wikipage, which I thought was acceptable. Was it not?

Chris —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soundpro99 (talk • contribs) 15:24, June 9, 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, RJASE1 is busy with some other issues and might not be able to reply to messages here in a timely manner. In the meantime, I took a look at your edits to Dummy head recording. Since all you did was simply Wikify a term already in the article, that's fine.
On a slightly different issue, you should change your current username. The Wikipedia policy at WP:UNP prohibits "Promotional usernames that attempt to promote a group or company on Wikipedia, including but not limited to: Usernames that match the name of a company or group, especially if the user promotes it." To request a change of username, you will want to visit Wikipedia:Changing username. Taking care of this now will save you hassles later. Good luck, Satori Son 16:09, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I went to the page you suggested to change the username, but can't figure out how to add a request. I will continue to try to figure it out. I wish I didn't have to do this......"soundpro" is a username I use for everything.....it's makes it easy for me and it's not the name of our company, and we don't use the term 'soundpro' to abbreviate our name. The website www.soundpro.com is a different company. Anyway, I will try to comply.

Thank you for responding about the link on the Dummy head recording page. Since this is a legitimate wiki link, shouldn't the link point to a page that has information on it? Would not a page with some information about the company be useful to a reader of the Dummy head binaural acticle? Many other manufacturers have pages such as this which seem to be acceptable....in fact, I created the page using other manufacturers pages as a template. This is the part I don't quite understand....your input would be greatly appreciated.

Chris —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soundpro99 (talk • contribs) 01:10, June 10, 2007 (UTC

I figured out how to request a change. The request has been made.

Chris —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soundpro99 (talk • contribs) 01:25, June 10, 2007 (UTC)

I went to your talk page to respond there, but after reading your previous messages from others it appears this issue is more complicated than I thought. After I get a chance to look into it a little more, I'll respond fully at User talk:Soundpro99 or User talk:Ccarfagno (no use filling up RJASE1's talk page while he's unavailable).
And thanks for filing the name change request. Trust me, since your company's name is "Sound Professionals", it was only a matter of time before an admin saw your "Soundpro" username and blocked you until you changed it. -- Satori Son 01:59, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] R&R ReportWriter citation blatant advertising?

Hello, I received notification that the article for my company's product, R&R ReportWriter was deleted from Wikipedia for being a blatant advertistment. I can't find any indication as to what the original article was and am therefore unable to determine what if anything might have been in it.

I reviewed Wikipedia and found most of our competitors have a citation, including MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports, Actuate and others. So it can't be just the fact that our citation was a product. I'm interested in learning more about what was there and what was removed. Please e-mail me at cstrasser [at] livewarepub [dot] com

Regards, Chris Strasser —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.72.119.170 (talk • contribs) 19:52, June 11, 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, RJASE1 is not currently active.
I'll try to help you as best I can. Please go to my discussion page at User talk:Satori Son and provide me with the exact title of the former article and any other information you have. Hopefully, we can track it down on the deletion log and see exactly what happened and why. Thanks, Satori Son 20:22, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] microphone manufacturers

Hello again:

A question....trying to be careful here......several articles have been written about our company on the web and in magazines, mostly about some of our products which are unique in our industry. If we link to these as references, does that fulfill the notability requirement to have a company information page? Here is an example:

http://www.oreillynet.com/digitalmedia/blog/2007/02/fun_with_binaural_mics.html

I want to make sure the next submission conforms.

Chris

On a new subject, I like the layout of your userpage...it's one of the cleanest I have seen.....do you mind if I use it as a general template for creating my own user page? I would gladly give you credit, etc.

Chris

[edit] Deborah Doniach

You wrote that the article on Deborah Doniach does not have any references or sources, yet there are quite a few references and sources right there on the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdoniach (talkcontribs) 03:21, June 9, 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Offutt

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Offutt, by Sjoffutt (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Offutt fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

The existence of this redirect makes it impossible for users to search on the single term "Offutt," by intercepting the search and redirecting to Offutt Air Force Base.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Offutt, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate Offutt itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:20, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] State of Texas websites

Are you CERTAIN that websites of the State of Texas are not public domain - (considering the Texas Open Records Act?). It is my understanding that it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.20.235.210 (talk • contribs) 22:29, July 9, 2007 (UTC)
