I have re-written this article in this form using the information at this pdf file. I also felt that it contained too many unarticled (ie red!] references. I also used the OS map to check my facts. I felt that the main thrust of the article should be that the Ingrebourne is very much a rural river in an urban setting, and that this was not brought out originally. The fact that we are in the Thames Gateway is also relevant - so much is made of the "covering the land with concrete" in that context that it is important to stress the other side of the coin.
