[edit] I'm pretty sure the solution given is wrong

The police officer cannot go with daughter 2, as the thief can't be with anybody but the police officer. I fixed the solution. Akshayaj 14:47, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

The solution is still wrong. The mother cannot cross the river at step 8 without the father because this will result in her being with the son on the opposite bank. I just corrected it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there should actually be at least two shortest solutions - If the father and sons are swapped for the mother and daughters, it will still be a valid solution and take the same number of moves. Alexanderkominek 03:44, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
