Rivoli is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 14 km west of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 50,694 and an area of 29.5 km².[1]
Rivoli borders the following municipalities: Turin, Pianezza, Caselette, Alpignano, Collegno, Rosta, Grugliasco, Villarbasse, Rivalta di Torino, Orbassano.

Although unproven by archaeological and historical sources, it is thought that the area of Rivoli was inhabited by Celt tribes before the Roman conquest. The first findings are from the 1st and 2nd century AD, belonging to Roman sepultures.

Rivoli is famous for its castle, an unfinished Residence of the Royal House of Savoy which currently houses a museum of contemporary art.
