Rivergate Mall (officially RiverGate) is a shopping mall located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Built in 1971, the mall originally included three anchor stores: JCPenney, Cain-Sloan, and Castner Knott. A wing featuring Sears, dozens of new parcels, and a food court was added in 1989. Another renovation in 1999, in anticipation of new competition from Opry Mills, resulted in new furnishings and carpeted floors everywhere except the food court. At this time, the mall's name officially changed from Rivergate Mall to RiverGate.
The mall currently has four anchor stores: Sears, Dillards (the former Cain-Sloan), JC Penney, and Macy's (the former Castner-Knott). There are also two outparcels, a Firestone automotive center and a Carmike Cinemas 8-screen multiplex. CBL also manages The Shoppes at RiverGate, a strip mall next door featuring Target and Circuit City.
The mall property is owned and managed by CBL & Associates Properties. RiverGate has over 150 stores and over 5,200 parking spaces located on and around the mall property.
