River Tyne, Scotland

The River Tyne in Scotland is a river which rises in the Moorfoot Hills in Midlothian near Tynehead to the south of Edinburgh, at the junction of the B6458 and the B6367.
It runs for 30 miles in a north-eastern direction, through, or near to:
- Samuelston
- Grants' Braes Bridge on B6368
- Haddington - Victoria Bridge, Nungate Bridge, Stevenson Bridge, Waterloo Bridge
- Abbey Bridge (south of Barnes Castle)
- Hailes Castle
- East Linton
- Prestonkirk Parish Church
- Preston Mill
- Phantassie and Phantassie Doocot
- Tyninghame Bridge
- Tyninghame House
- Mosshouse Point
- Hedderwick Sands
It empties into the North Sea at Tyninghame near Belhaven and Dunbar, at a bay named Tyne Mouth.
The Tyne has many tributaries, but it is mainly a confluence between the Tyne Water and Birns Water, 2 km east of Easter Pencaitland and Spilmersford Bridge on the B6355. It rises in the Moorfoot Hills and runs for 30 miles
There are three reservoirs, the largest is Whiteadder Reservoir.
The East Lothian Angling Association controls 25 miles of the Tyne and its feeder burns. There is mainly brown trout, but also sea trout.
