River Rye (Ireland)

The River Rye (Rye Water) is a tributary of the River Liffey. It rises in County Kildare, flowing south-east for 12 miles. The Rye's major tributary is the Lyreen which flows through Maynooth. The Rye runs north of Kilcock and Maynooth, through the estate of Carton House and behind Intel Ireland, finally joining the Liffey at Leixlip.
