The River Oykel (Gaelic: Abhainn Oicill, pronounced [au.ɪɲ ɤçg̊ʲɪɫ̪]) in Sutherland, in northern Scotland, rises on the southern side of Ben More Assynt and drains into the Dornoch Firth.

The River Cassley feeds into the Oykel by Invercassley (Inbhir Charsla). The Oykel joins with the River Shin about Inveran, forming the Kyle of Sutherland, which becomes the Dornoch Firth at Bonar Bridge, just below the junction with the River Carron.

The river rises at a height of 1500 feet and flows just over 35 miles.

It is designated as a Special Area of Conservation. The lower valley of the Oykel is known as Strath Oykel (Srath Oicill), the upper part as Glen Oykel (Gleann Oicill).
