River Forest is a town in Anderson Township, Madison County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Anderson, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 28 at the 2000 census.

River Forest is located at 40°6′34″N, 85°43′46″W (40.109508, -85.729359)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.0 square miles (0.1 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 28 people, 10 households, and 8 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,745.0 people per square mile (540.5/km²). There were 10 housing units at an average density of 623.2/sq mi (193.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White.

There were 10 households out of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.0% were married couples living together, and 20.0% were non-families. 20.0% of all households were made up of individuals and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.25.

In the town the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 14.3% from 25 to 44, 32.1% from 45 to 64, and 21.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 86.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.8 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $110,555, and the median income for a family was $110,555. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $26,250 for females.
