River City Wrestling is an independent wrestling promotion based out of San Antonio, Texas. Owned and operated by River City Wrestling Productions President Brandon Oliver since 2002, River City Wrestling is one of the leading independent promotions in the southwestern United States.

RCW held its inaugural event in 2002 at River City Gymnastics in San Antonio, Texas. RCW started on San Antonio local public access television, with a weekly show titled "RCW Rampage" featuring taped matches from events that were held in San Antonio, Seguin, San Marcos and Austin.
The show was hosted by the RCW announce team of play-by-play announcer J. Largo and color analyst Ray "The Voice". Also featuring Christian Schmidt and Brandon Oliver announcing throughout various episodes. The stars of the program included "Venom" Paul Diamond, Mike Dell, AC Riddick, Shadow (TNA Superstar Lance Hoyt), "The Children of Pain" Darin & Kris Childs, Enigma, "Primetime Playaz" Kid Soulja & Rob Summers, "The Phantom Lords, Scott E. Charms, "Showtime" Scott Summers, and Bull.
RCW's first heavyweight champion was Jeromy Sage when he defeated Paul Diamond in Seguin, Texas. Soon after, RCW presented the first ever Texas Explosion in December 2003 collaborate with Charlie Akagi, a wrestling event and TV producer featuring stars from All Japan Pro Wrestling. The show featured "The Great Muta", "The Great Koji", Kazushi Myamoto, former WCW star Kaz Hayashi, and indy stars The SATs, Homicide, Jeremy Lopez and more.
RCW went on hiatus until the summer of 2005, and began to run monthly shows (sometimes bi-weekly). It continued its public access show, until receiving a timeslot on KCWX (UPN2 Affiliate) in San Antonio, producing a show "RCW On KCWX", but lost their timeslot after the merger of UPN and WB, becoming the CW Network.
