Category talk:Rivers of Ireland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1. The article begins This category has been listed for deletion; however, it does not appear to be listed on the "categories for deletion" page.
2. There are alphabetical order oddities here.
3. I doubt we need this page in addition to List of rivers in Ireland (the latter does a better job IMHO).
4. I don't know what the solution to any of these points is! -- Picapica 22:42, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Categories and lists serve different purposes (lists can hold red links, categories are more easily populated/updated).
- The delete notice (which I'm removing) was from a suggested change from Rivers in CountryName to Rivers of CountryName. See Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Rivers of the world.
- Category items can automatically alphabetically sort, or this can be overridden with the form [[Category:Rivers in Ireland|Shannon]]<nowiki> (sorting "River Shannon" under S not R in this case). Someone will need to check the alphabetising by looking at the category links on the article pages. :~~~~
OK. Done that. For the sake of consistency can we reverse the "River Boyne" to "Boyne" redirect? -- Picapica 14:16, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
