[edit] Welcome
Hello, RitaSkeeter, and welcome to Wikipedia! While we appreciate your desire to contribute, I have a concern about the four article you have created today: PerfectDisk, O&O Defrag, Vopt, and JkDefrag. Specifically, the articles, as currently written, do not meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion set forth at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies).
I understand they are just stubs, so I have not yet deleted them. But you will need to add citations to the articles that verify the notability of the products. To meet that notability requirement, the products will need to have received coverage by reliable, third-party published sources.
If you have any questions, please ask here (I will watchlist this page for now) and I will try my best to help. Thanks and, again, welcome! -- Satori Son 16:15, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of JkDefrag
An article that you have been involved in editing, JkDefrag, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/JkDefrag. Thank you. Eluchil404 05:45, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Vopt
Vopt, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Vopt satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vopt and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Vopt during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Guy (Help!) 23:00, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Defrag software articles
The tone of the articles in question is not encyclopedic. It reads somewhere between an ad and a section out of a software guide in BYTE or somewhere of the sort. If you wish to retain these articles, this must be addressed. --Orange Mike 18:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Citicism is all well and good, but constructive criticism is actually helpful. A few concrete examples would be more useful. Actual rewriting would be even more beneficial RitaSkeeter 20:09, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] JkDefrag
I tagged based upon some person's comment "Pages that can be improved should be edited or tagged, not nominated for deletion". You may have heard of her... 8-)
It does read like an ad or the description you would find on a copy of boxed software.

- How do you propose to change it? --RitaSkeeter 20:35, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
I was just looking around at edits made by another user, I looked at the article and saw how it read like an ad instead of an article about the product. It needs a more consistent NPOV style, as I said it reads like the supporting text of a piece of boxed software. I cannot get back to it as I am in the middle of working on several articles that need major clean up. I can say the descriptors used in the Operation sectionn eed to cleaned up by rephrasing so they seem less like ad copy. I have had to do this on many articles related to the article that I was working on that was AfD'ed (the article was kept), so I was just commenting based upon my own personal experience.

- Rita,
- I just took a look at the article and you did a really great job at cleaning it up. - Jeremy (Jerem43 22:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Vopt
Thank you for starting this article and for putting so much effort into getting it right. I was beginning to think that WP consists of critics who don't contribute but just delete and vandalise. Best wishes, --Donn Edwards 00:02, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:PerfectDisk8Logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:PerfectDisk8Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
