List of Dave the Barbarian episodes |
Rite of Pillage is the second half of episode #1.09 of the animated television series Dave the Barbarian.
[edit] Plot
Dave's 16th birthday has approached and he has to perform a rite of pillage, as all barbarians who turn 16 do. If he fails he will disgrace his family forever.
First task - His battle cry, he cheats by lipsincing to Fang's battle cry, he is caught and is failed.
Second task - To pillage and plunder a village and ruin the houses, he fails when he ruins them by giving them a purposely bad renovation. Because giving a house a makeover is not barbariany.
Third task - To raid someone's house, he doesn't do it because he chooses a house and a small, poor boy enters and explains how poor his family is.
Fourth task - To write a notice to someone saying he's going to pillage and plunder his house, the test is on penmenship and even though penmenship is not barbariany it counts as 75% of Dave's final grade...because the whole rite of pillage is sponsored by some pen company.
[edit] Trivia
This episode marks the only time in the show's run Dave did something dishonest (cheat) and not feel bad about it later on.
