Ritchie Valens was the first and only studio album released by Ritchie Valens. It was released on Del-Fi Records in 1959. The album has been reissued over the years all the way to the late 1980s, featuring different album covers. The most prized of the Ritchie Valens' albums is the DFLP-1201 Del-Fi original release in 1959, the vinyl was much thicker, contributing to a much better sound than the later reissues by Del-Fi and Rhino Records. The record labels on original DFLP-1201 pressings are black and sea green with the same print font as used on the back of the album cover.
Furthermore, the La Bamba song found in this vinyl is a slower version found on CD's today.
