Rita Verma

Rita Verma (born 1953, Patna) is a former Minister of State of Mines and Minerals in the Indian government.
She is a former member of Lok Sabha from Dhanbad. She was educated at Patna University, and taught history in Ranchi University. She was married to an IPS of Bihar cadre - Shri Randhir Verma from 1974 batch. He sacrificed his life while foiling an attempt to a bank robbery in Dhanbad where he was serving as the Superintendent of Police. He is still fondly remembered as an upright Police Officer of Bihar Cadre.
