Rita Rogers, MD has authored 112 publications focusing on psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychiatry and foreign affairs, a field which she founded. She has been a Trustee-at-large of the American Psychiatric Association and has chaired committees and task forces on the Arab-Israeli, Pakistani-Bangladesh and Cyprus conflicts and on the psychosocial aspects of the nuclear issues. She has also been a U.S. Delegate to the Academy of Science and World Affairs since 1970. In 1980, she received a gold medal from the World Association of Dynamic Psychiatry for psychiatric contributions to international understanding.
International presentations by Dr. Rogers have included a lecture on Nationalism: A Psychopolitical Defense, Glasnost and the Emotional Climate in Eastern Europe and Changing Family Lifestyles: Do We Know the Outcome?. She also presented a course on Nationalism – A State of Mind at the 17th Summer Course on Racism, Xenophobia and Ethnics Conflicts of the International School on Disarmament and Research on Conflicts, held in Italy. In 1998 Dr. Rogers presented a paper in Berlin to the Association of Dynamic Psychiatry and was invited to the World Congress of Humanists in Sarajevo. There she was inducted into the Golden Chamber of Humanism and declared Humanist of the Decade for building peace and democracy based on humanist principles.
Dr. Rogers has also practiced psychiatry at Malaga Cove Plaza in the prestigous community of Palos Verdes Estates for nearly three decades.
