Rita Gunasekaran

Rita Gunasekaran is an India-born lawyer in the U.S. She is one of the recipient of the NAPABA Trailblazer Award, NAPABA's highest honour. The award recognized outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of NAPABA lawyers who have paved the way for the advancement of, and served as role models for, other Asian Pacific American lawyers.

She was born in Madras (Chennai), India, on March 10, 1943. She did her B.Sc. from Queen Mary's College in Madras in 1962, and her B.L from Madras Law College, Madras, in 1964. She was admitted in the bar council in Madras in 1964, and later in 1983 at California, in 1984 at U.S. District Court, Central District of California, in 1987 at U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and in 1994 at the U.S. Supreme Court.
