Risto Näätänen

Risto Kalervo Näätänen, modern Finnish psychologist and neuroscientist, member of the Finnish Academy of Science, Professor in University or Helsinki 1975-1999, one of the few Finnish scientists who have been appointed permanent Academy Professors of the Academy of Finland. He is discoverer of the mismatch negativity phenomenon and was Head of the Helsinki Brain Research Centre (2001-2007). He is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Tartu, 2007-. He is author of a number of books including "Textbook for the gymnasium", as well as "Death on the road in Finland", and is also the most cited scientist in Finnish history.
