[edit] History

Rise and Fall is a hardcore punk band from Ghent, Belgium, known for its ultra loud and powerful live performances. They draw influences from bands such as Black Flag, Converge, Neurosis, Entombed and Slayer.

[edit] Early career (2002 - 2004) - Hellmouth

Formed in 2002 when members of The Deal and Kingpin wanted to start a side project, Rise and Fall later became the most important band for all four members, after these former groups disbanded. Following some lineup changes, the band released their first album in April 2004 entitled "Hellmouth". The album was picked up a few months later and the CD released by JTTP Records in Germany while the vinyl version was released by Belgium's Anger Management Records.

The band then set out on a self-booked European tour in August 2004, and the following October were picked up by 100 Demons to support them on their European tour. During these tours the band started writing material for their following album.

[edit] Into Oblivion (2005 - 2007)

In March 2005 the drummer departed from the band, stunting the new album's progress. In April 2005, one year after it was originally recorded, "Hellmouth" was released in the United States with bonus tracks on Philadelphia's "SA Mob" record label.

In the meantime, ex Course of Action drummer and long time friend Jp joined the band and together they finished writing the new album.

In July 2005 the band recorded their second full length "Into Oblivion". Recorded in CCR Studios in Zulte, Belgium it was engineerd by Vincent Tetaert of Amen Ra and mixed in Boston, MA at Godcity Studio by Kurt Ballou (Converge). American label Deathwish Inc. and European Reflections Records put out the album. Throughout the rest of 2005, Rise and Fall toured all over Europe solidifying a name already well established.

2006 will see Rise and Fall extend their touring schedule and mark the start of 2 long years to come. With an average of 150 shows a year, the band (with all 4 members still having work obligations) will keep touring consistently.
