Ripatransone is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 70 km southeast of Ancona and about 20 km northeast of Ascoli Piceno. As of 31 December 2005, it had a population of 4,362 and an area of 74.2 km².[1]
The municipality of Ripatransone contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Petrella, San Savino, Val Tesino, and Trivio.
Ripatransone borders the following municipalities: Acquaviva Picena, Carassai, Cossignano, Cupra Marittima, Grottammare, Massignano, Montefiore dell'Aso, Offida.

In the summers of 2006 and 2007, the University of Bologna hosted an international summer school with students attending from all over Europe, along with Australia, Canada and the USA. 50 international students travelled to Ripatransone and were absorbed into the town for two weeks.
