Rintrah is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. Rintrah is an other-dimensional being with a resemblance to the mythological minotaur; something like a green-furred horned ox with humanoid hands and walks upright on his hind feet.
Rintrah has sensitivity to the presence of occult forces and possesses the potential to become a skilled sorcerer. He was once the apprentice of the other-dimensional sorcerer known as Enitharmon the Weaver. When Doctor Strange brought his mystical coat of levitation to Enitharmon to be repaired, the wizard restored the cloak and sent Rintrah to Earth to return to Strange. Strange, who had been gravely wounded, possessed Rintrah's body with his permission to battle the alien mystic Urthona. After this, Rintrah accompanied Strange on his exploits for a time, and after departing for a time, returned to ask Strange to make him his apprentice.
He dealt with the outside world by donning disguises, mostly of classic movie stars, like Humphrey Bogart.
Rintrah once assisted Strange and Topaz in gathering ingredients for a spell. They met and briefly fought Ghost Rider. The trio followed and stumbled upon a base full of mystical villains. The killer Zodiac was using the location to mystically torture children for his own purposes. All four put aside their differences to help the children. Rintrah physically attacked many of Zodiac's lackeys, going for punches rather than spells.
At one point in the team-up, Rintrah was admonished by Doctor Strange for his rashness in battle. Rintrah acknowledged he was quick to anger when his master was threatened.
Later, Rintrah earns his master's original blue Cloak of Levitation and the Amulet of Agamotto.
Rintrah seemingly perishes when he smashes the enscrolled talisman of Tartessus.[1] His remains are sent to another dimension for temporary safekeeping.
