Rildo Cordeiro

Rildo Cordeiro also known as Mestre Penteado was born in October 24th, 1972 in the city of Fortaleza on the state Ceara. Started Capoeira during the 80's with Paulao do Ceara, which at the time was part of the Senzala group. In 1987, he joined the group Cordao de Ouro under the direciton of Espirro Mirim. In 1991 he became Contra-Mestre and then he moved to Rio de Janeiro city called Barra do Pinai where he started his first school in 1994.

In his youth he was a three time Capoeira champion and has fought five times in Vale Tudo.[citation needed] Penteado is also versed in Jeet Kun Do, Jujutsu.

Two years later, he moved to Minas Gerais where he started a new school with the group Cordao de Ouro with the supervision of Mestre Suassuna. From this school, he gets the opportunity to expand his school with some of his most advanced students to other parts of Brasil.

Today he has schools on four locations in Brazil: Belo Horizonte-Minas Gerais, Teresina-Piaui, Santa Catarina and Santa Cruz Cabrália-Bahia. In 2001, he received his first level Mestre belt from Suassuna in São Paulo in conjunction of three other Mestres: Irani, Sampaio and Xavier.

Currently he teaches in Riverside, California under the supervision of Suassuna.
