[edit] Welcome

Hello, RIH-V, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to anounce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

Again, welcome! abakharev 11:55, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Translation Request

Greetings RIH-V!

Can you please help me translate these passages into the unique Ukrainian language?

Your help would be very gratefully appreciated, Thankyou very much.

You are welcome. God bless you.--RIH-V 16:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

THANKYOU VERY VERY MUCH RIH-V for your wonderful translation effort!
May you prosper!
Yours Sincerely, From --Jose77 21:06, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AGF, WP:NPA and WP:CIV

Regarding this, please do not harass other users with assumption of bad faith and slanderous statements at their talk pages. As per WP:NPA#Consequences, "Abusive edit summaries are particularly ill-regarded." I reverted your entry. If you want to say something to another editor, do so properly. Happy edits, --Irpen 18:50, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Two times User:Ghirlandajo has edited my edit. I have explained him the reason why it must be categorized thus. Instead response nonsense. I hope you learnt matter of this discussion with User:Ghirlandajo. Good wishes.--RIH-V 18:58, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for these policies. Good policies.--RIH-V 19:01, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
User Ghirlandajo reverted you because he in good faith disagreed with your edits. In return you accused him in "hating Ukraine" and "perverting history". These were highly offensive and unwarranted accusations. Ghirlandajo is free to have different views from those of yourself. This user from Russia wrote much more than yourself on en-wiki about Ukrainian historical landmarks, churches, cities, etc. See for instance his cotribtuions to: Charax, Crimea, Ovruch, Zymne Monastery, Staryi Chortoryisk, Halych, Chernihiv, Vyshhorod, Pochayiv Lavra, St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery and many more. Your accusations were ill-adviced and inappropriate. --Irpen 19:14, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I do not have less rights on Wikipedia than User:Ghirlandajo even I have a few edits. This habit of illuminating Ukrainian views is ill. Best wishes.--RIH-V 21:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
This is not about having more or less rights. This is about accusing the user who disagrees with you in hating Ukraine and perverting its history. No one has such rights. --Irpen
It is not good to accuse me of what I did not do. I left response about two inappropriate repeated edits with word nonsense on my edits and said here is no room for hating Ukraine and perverting history. I did not accuse User:Ghirlandajo in anything. Best wishes.--RIH-V 22:23, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
In your message you said to another user that he hates Ukrainians, Ukraine and perverts its history. These are your direct words and they are certainly accusatory. But I hope the points of both of us are well understood by now and future mistakes will be avoided. --Irpen 22:29, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Here are my words: Wikipedia is not a place for to hate Ukraine and Ukrainians. Your recently double edit my edit of Category:Kuban and Kuban is not even close to truth. Kuban is ukrainian cultural region. Additionally Kuban belonged Ukraine in 1918 when Kuban People Republic announced reunion with Ukraine. If you disagree with the history it can not affect encyclopedia and categorizing it. If you promote Russian fascism and hate against Ukrainian it is not acceptable for others. Best wishes. I did not say "He hates Ukrainians and Ukraine". I said here is no room for such things and after that pointed his attension on his edits for him to value them with good faith. I was a little bit sharp about fascism. I am sorry. And I wish to build good work cooperation. I hope you can see my best efforts and also respect to user:Ghirlandajo. Best wishes.--RIH-V 22:44, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
--Irpen 21:45, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I hope, we shall not talk about my personality, even it is in Ukrainian. I am not here to discuss it. It is not so important matter about having tied Kuban to Ukrainian cultural region. Just do not oppose what is obvious. Good wishes.--RIH-V 22:08, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
What is obvious to some may not be obvious or even agreeable to others. This by itself does not represent pervertion of history or hatred towards Ukraine. The cultural link between Kuban and Ukraine does exist. Note, however, that the category is not called "Ukrainian etno-cultural regions". It is called "Ukrainian historical regions". I hope you can see the difference. Maybe we should rename the category first. --Irpen 22:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
This is obvious for me, it is why I added Kuban to "Ukrainian historical regions". That fact of Ukraine-Kuban Union in 1918 gives us rights to have Kuban in this category. We can create new category of ukranian cultural regions. Best wishes.--RIH-V 22:29, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Vladyslav, if you could add to the Kuban article a little more on the Ukraine-Kuban Union, or if you could create an article on the union in the English wiki, it may help to resolve the problem.
And I must say, Irpen was wrong in going that far as accusing you for "accusing Ghirlandajo in hating Ukraine" [1]. He was wrong in going that far as digging into your contributions on Ukrainian wiki, and going over your personality. And, he was also biased in ignoring Ghirlandajo's reverts marked as "rmv nonsense" [2] and "rmv misleading cat" [3]. But regardless of that, please be tolerant on your side. --18:43, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pentecostalism

Hello I've noticed that you have done many editing on Pentecostal churches articles, by chance do you have any relation or aquaitance with the Slavic Pentecostal Movement? I ask it because, I'm very interested in Eastern Protestantism and the Slavic Pentecostalism, which includes churches such the Union of Christians of Evangelical-Pentecostal Faith of Ukrainia. I'm intersted to know more about the ethos, costums, worship, etc See you around Leo Alves - Newport, RI —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Leonardo Alves (talkcontribs) 15:31, 4 December 2006 (UTC).

Hello. I am part of Ukrainian (Eastern European) Pentecostal Movement. During Soviet times this Church was deep underground, because it did not accept Communist Party and Soviet government as the highest authority (it and its members had been sacrificing continuously). I found one book available in English "From Azusa Street to the U.S.S.R." by Fred Smolchuk, Assemblies of God minister. I will be glad to help you. May God bless you.--RIH-V 20:13, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Some good information, history and recent news can be obtained at Religious-Information Service of Ukraine.--RIH-V 20:32, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Siberian wikipedia thanks you for your vote in our support. Unfortunately, many votes in this voting http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proposals_for_closing_projects/Closure_of_Siberian_Wikipedia are alleged to be falsified. We need you to verify your vote. There are two ways of doing it: you can confirm it right below this request or you can do this by adding to your user page a link to your meta account (like this:[4]") —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.68.146.96 (talk) 06:59, 7 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Civility

Hey, there! It seems that you're currently involved in a content dispute at Battle of Konotop -- if you haven't, already, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our dispute resolution process, which begins with the use of talk pages, and can lead to steps such as a request for comment, a case with the Mediation Cabal or Mediation Committee, and can culminate at the Arbitration Committee.

I see that you've used the word "vandal" in some of your discussion; I'd like to ask that you refrain from doing so, in the future -- quoting from Wikipedia:Vandalism: "Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism." I encourage you to assume good faith whenever possible, and to keep a cool head whenever possible, working out your disagreements with other users without resorting to name-calling and accusations. This is just a friendly reminder. You are free to discuss, but please be sure to create an environment where people can speak freely and a variety of opinions can be welcomed. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Luna Santin 10:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Please, be respectful and civil when you come to my page - I do not expect you say me Hey. I was never involved in Battle of Konotop. When is illuminated complete country - that is vandalism.--RIH-V 18:11, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough -- "hey, there" is a pretty common informal greeting, in my area, and no disrespect was intended. Is there a greeting you would prefer, in the future? Luna Santin 23:21, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I understood you were not abusive. So, it is OK now. You can say "hi" or "hello", something what is widely acceptible, as you choose. I have noticed I was accused of personal attack on page were you are in charge. So, I am going to bring for your attention this attack. I was accused of been evangelical. The least what I am expecting to have on English Wikipedia to be attacked by trolls as Evangelical and Ukrainian.

Best wishes. If you have a solution, please, let me know.--RIH-V 02:56, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Please read WP:V. Calling the edits of your opponents as Vandalism is very disruptive. Happy edits, --Irpen 10:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:MAX

It is proposed that Category:MAX be deleted as it seems to duplicate Category:Metropolitan Area Express (Portland, Oregon) (which should probably be at Category:MAX Light Rail. Jason McHuff 01:17, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree.--RIH-V 05:55, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re

First of all what is your problem? Please give an example of me being a Russian nationalist and define the term in the process? Second of all why did you blank my addition to Religion in Ukraine or for that fact Religion in Russia. For your information the English spelling of the capital of Ukraine is Kiev, as confirmed by numerous policies. Before you criticise anyone on being a POV pusher please look in the mirror, and unless you have anything constructive, please do not pollute my talk page with useless rant. --Kuban Cossack 16:55, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:AIDS

Hi Vladyslav Savelo, I am sorry for my late reply. You had left a message on my talk page here.

When I saw the article on the 24th of April, the content was this therefore I mistakenly thought it was vandalism.

Please forgive me. --Jose77 08:15, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
