Rihand River

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rihand is a river in east-central India, a tributary of the Son River. The Rihand's headwaters rise the Bagelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh state, and flow north into Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh, where it joins the Son. The Rihand Dam was constructed across the river in 1962 for hydropower generation; the reservoir impounded behind the dam is called Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar.
