AFD: We Came To Take Your Jobs Away

On the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/We Came To Take Your Jobs Away, you added your opinion as "Keep all per argument below." However, there is no argument below and I'm wondering if you intended to add this comment to this particular page or to another one. Regards, User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 23:21, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Sumatran Rhino

I've responded to all your observations at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Sumatran Rhinoceros. Left explanations on a few points as well. Please let me know if there are other weaknesses in the article that you would like me to address. Thanks again for the helpful review! --JayHenry (talk) 00:05, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Any chance of expanding to PRODs?

Good idea. :) In fact I finished the code and pushed it live earlier today, I'll update the bots user page now. Also, I had a bug so that bot wasn't running, it should be now. BJTalk 08:40, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Cross posted from Forlane (and Furlana)

I think these may be the same thing, but the descriptions are somewhat unclear (they are both very short). I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone is familiar with 17th century dances and can advise on if they should be merged, or if not, how they can be better distinguished. Rigadoun (talk) 20:11, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

They are the same if one is to believe Yale University's libarians: Forlane; TYPE (English, French); Italian folkdance; use for forlana, furlana. You are perfectly safe in merging the texts; a redirect from the latter to the former will finish the job. Robert Greer (talk) 00:09, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Marking it as minor was inadvertant. My apologies. --Mhking (talk) 01:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a great new year, --Elonka 05:37, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

user talk:Ggggggggggggggg12

I know, reading that talk page makes me sad every time I think about it. I found the incident by reading User:Rspeer. I've never worked with Rspeer on articles, but when I see him comment on discussions, I find him to be one of the smartest Wikipedians out there. The thoughts on his user page are absolutely correct, in my opinion. I definitely agree it should be required reading for WP:UAA. --JayHenry (talk) 03:02, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

PRODing of COAT articles

Please explain what you mean by "invalid PROD". COAT BoLP articles are most certainly PRODable. None of the changes address the COAT concerns. Maury (talk) 22:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Da Yellow Bus Rydah

Oh hey, I didn't realize who had prodded this until after I removed the {{prod}} and added some sources: Da Yellow Bus Rydah. It's borderline. The album does seem to have gotten some coverage, and is on a major label, but it looks like it's status is up in the air. So it possibly fails WP:CRYSTAL because even with the sources I don't think we can say it's "almost certain to occur." The video for "Ghost Ride It" is pretty hilarious, but that's not a reason to keep either :) Anyways, if you want to take this one to AFD and see what people think I'd have no problem with that. --JayHenry (talk) 02:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the nice note about adminship. It's reassuring to know that at least four people would support me :) It's something I've certainly thought about, but I worry that I'd lose my way. One of my "WikiHeroes", Willow, said it best. I have none of WillowW's magic, but certain areas of the Wiki make me depressed, and I worry that as an admin I'd be tempted to spend too much time in those places. --JayHenry (talk) 05:49, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

A Persistent Vandal

I've reverted some vandalism by Nake-Blade only to have it come right back. Do I send him the warnings or is this supposed to come from an administrator? Thanks.Originalname37 (talk) 15:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

It looks like GoodDamon beat me to it. ThanksOriginalname37 (talk) 15:11, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). External map service links

Hello. You have been identified as having added or removed direct external map service links in articles[1]. There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:External links#Issues with inclusion or exclusion of map service links about which should be done, and some more opinions would be good to find community consensus. --Para (talk) 23:09, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Pietro Scalia

I'd say that the film/print is a pretty reliable source, wouldn't you? Unless you've seen the film and didn't notice the shots of the boom microphone, I suggest that you supply a reliable source to refute it. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sal Chicho (talkcontribs) 17:21, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
