Opened in August 1994, Ridgeview High provides a strong curriculum for all students. Graduates are qualified to enter the UC or CSU systems directly or select from the broadest post high school educational and training options. Ridgeview's diverse student population is representative of the general population of the city of Bakersfield. At each student's appropriate academic level, school-wide goals focus on improving skills in reading, math and writing. GATE, Honors and Advanced Placement classes are offered in Math, English Science and Social Studies. Tutoring is offered four afternoons after school and on two evenings each week. Student's are referred to as the "Wolf Pack," since the school's mascot is a wolf.
